Fast Facts - Flashcards
Fast Facts - Flashcards
“Have fun learning your times tables together.”
Fast Facts is a box of flashcards to help teachers to teach, and young people to learn, their basic number facts. It has been created because so many students are entering High school without a mastery of the basic number facts. This, in turn, makes it much harder for them to master the Secondary school curriculum. The 400 basic number facts should all have been mastered by the end of Grade four.
How Fast Facts works. See our 2 minute video below.
Rote learning is currently out of fashion, with the current focus on 21st century learning. It is worth noting that rote learning has been effective for centuries. For example, we include one quotation from Matthew Arnold, (1822 to 1888) the famous headmaster of Rugby School in England.

“It is a great mistake to think they (children) should understand all they learn. For God has ordered that in youth the memory should act vigorously, independent of understanding, whereas a man cannot usually recollect a thing unless he understands it.” (1847)
Neuroplasticity can be used to strengthen cognitive processes to improve an individual’s learning. The fast and repetitive methods used by Fast Facts applies the principles of neuroplasticity effectively to enhance the person’s capacity to remember Maths facts.” - Joanne Dickenson, NeuFocus
For schools, a representative is available to come out to demonstrate how the system works best in your particular situation.
The Big Box
The Big Box of Fast Facts consists of a presentation box of 40 sets of flashcards, together with an instruction manual for parents / teachers to supervise the learning of these time tables.
It requires an encouraging parent or teacher to work with the child as they progress through the sets of flashcards.
It has been tried successfully in Primary and Secondary schools and with adults. It has produced significant improvement in the speed and accuracy of the recall of the 400 basic number facts.
The Big Box of Fast Facts consists of a box of 40 sets of flashcards, together with an instruction booklet for parents to supervise the learning of these times tables. 1 Big Box costs $95 plus delivery cost of $20 inside WA.
The Single Category Box enables a teacher to focus the whole class on learning one particular set of cards. This is ideal for Year 1 to 4 where the 2026 WA Syllabus directs Teachers to teach these specific sets of Number facts. Each box is one particular process e.g. x5. Each small box contains 40 identical sets of the x5 cards, where each set has 30 flash cards.
One Single Category box costs $95 plus $15 delivery.
Instruction booklet. This 12 page booklet is available for free download. It contains comprehensive tests on each of the four processes and a tables record sheet to record a student's progress, as well as further information.
Some testimonials:
My multi-age group class really enjoyed this resource. We even added a “Beat the teacher” round which they loved.
— Mrs Fradelos, Year 3 / 4 teacher at Diji Diji School
The delight on my students’ faces when they beat the timer is wonderful to see. Fast Facts is a great way to improve speed and accuracy for all levels of competency. I have found it to be a welcome break from using computer programmes which aim to do the same thing.
— Mrs Matthews Year 3 teacher Rehoboth Christian College
It's been a great tool. It's do-able, all in a box, and easy for the kids to all do at the same time. There's a system!
The sticker chart is great.
The instructions were perhaps too prescriptive? We've adjusted for our homeschool kids - we don't have them work in pairs; for one of our kids we find 60 seconds remains unachievable despite endless practice, so we just award when she's getting everything right.
— Paul, A homeschooler, Williams
It is very rare to come across an educational product that is simple to use, effective, and fun to use at the same time. This is Fast Facts.
My kids significantly improved their times tables using Fast Facts, and it’s a fun activity to do with your kids too.
— John, a parent, Mount Lawley
I use Fast Facts as homework extension with my three children (11, 10 & 6). Each one is able to follow the process independently. The rapid cycle of verbally answering and then checking their answers for each card in a deck seems to fulfil them and keep their attention. I’m sure the physical nature of the decks is an important part of the learning process too. The children enjoy seeing their completion times become shorter as they practice.
— Andrew, a parent, Willetton
