Collection: Secondary Maths Books Downloads

In recent years, Mr Creelman gave his attention to the teaching of the Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 WA Maths syllabus. While teaching these lower school courses, Mr Creelman noticed that the recommended textbooks provided by commercial Eastern States publishers weighed more than 1.5 kg and contained between 600 and 900 pages. These books were more like Teacher’s guides rather than a book of student exercises. In some places, the exercises did not correspond to the WA Maths curriculum.
Mr Creelman determined to produce a different series of Maths books for lower secondary students of Maths. Another teacher colleague, Mrs Michelle Plaistowe, agreed to help in formatting and proofreading the chapters.
They offer four Maths books, one for each of Year 7, Year 8, Year 9, and Year 10.
Each one is quite different from the books produced in the Eastern States. Some of the main differences are

• These books are written specifically to meet the requirements of the 2026 WA Maths curriculum.
• These books are meant to be a supplement to explicit teaching.
• These books do not require computers or devices.
• Each book consists of 10 chapters of exercises, approx 15 pages. Each chapter contains syllabus dot points, type examples, a write on style, extension questions, a sample test and answers. Each chapter takes around 3 weeks to complete.
• Each book contains a final chapter 11 which is a sample 2 hour end of year exam with answers.
• These books are “cheap and cheerful.” Each chapter costs only $1 to download. So the total cost for one year of Mathematics exercises with the exam is $10.
• The downloaded chapters need to be printed by you, to be available to you for this price.
• A physical version of the same book can be made available to schools for a cost of $30, to save teachers the trouble of downloading and printing.
• Each topic chapter contains about 15 pages and only weighs about 20 grams. This makes them easy to take home for homework and to bring to class each day.
• Chapter 1 of each book is provided to you as a free download so that you can see just what we are talking about.

Testimonials

“The Creelman program has brought a clear and consistent structure to our mathematics programme. The Fast Facts have been an excellent lesson starter, helping students build fluency and focus quickly. We have particularly appreciated that the resources are well suited to the Western Australian Curriculum, unlike many textbooks that are designed primarily for use in eastern states.”

- Taylor Bergsma, Secondary Deputy Principal, Hillside Christian College.

“The maths booklets that you have provided for year 7, 8, 9 and 10 in Hillside Christian College have been excellent.
The worked examples and practice problems are both valuable and commendable resources for learning as well as teaching.”

- Johanes Tanoto, Maths teacher, Hillside Christian College

“The booklets were well simplified and easy for both students and teachers to understand. We observed that students who were previously struggling with mathematical content from other mathematics textbooks showed improvement in their performance when using the Maths resource provided by Mr Creelman.
A parent also called to express appreciation for the change from a bulky textbook to a well-structured and simplified resource that still contains the same essential information.
Student performance percentages improved from a consistent 50%–60% range to approximately 70%–80%.
Thank you once again for your support.”
