Collection: Adult education downloads

Mr Creelman began Adult Education in 2024, teaching sailors in the Australian Navy, who needed to have a refresher course to bring them up to the Year 10 level in Maths. Here he developed a series of topic booklets of exercises to supplement his explicit teaching of these key topics.
Each of the booklets has been tested, multiple times, under classroom conditions. The booklets are sequential in nature, where each booklet presumes mastery of content from at least some of the previous booklets.
Each booklet typically contains the following features.

• Focus
Each book focuses on just one mathematical category e.g. Decimals
• Progressive
Booklets often start with some Primary school work and then proceed successively through Years 7, 8, 9 and 10.
• Type examples
Ideally, you have access to an experienced teacher, but just in case, some type examples are supplied.
• Sample tests
Each booklet contains, at the end, a Sample test, to see if you have mastered the main concepts in the booklet. This is particularly helpful if you are preparing for some external exam.
• Write-on component
For the sake of efficiency and respecting the different attitude, and time constraints, of adult learners, write on exercises are frequently provided, particularly for tables and graphical questions.
• Cheap and cheerful
The booklets cost $1 each, for a downloadable copy. They contain approximately 5 to 25 pages and can be completed in 1 to 4 hours.
• Extension questions
After each topic has been explained and practised at a basic level, some thinking questions are provided, to prepare you for the real world. The Australian Maths Trust (AMT) has kindly given permission for us to use old Competition questions from their annual August competitions.
